Cirkus Trailer: A Super Blend Of Bollywood Comedy Masala Film With Deepika Padukone As Surprise

The trailer of Rohit Shetty’s Cirkus starring Ranveer Singh, Johny Lever, Sanjay Mishra, Varun Sharma, Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez is here and it is raring to tickle your funny bone. Cirkus is a signature Rohit Shetty directorial, which one can totally — and senselessly — enjoy watching in theatres along with friends and family.

The trailer shows Ranveer in a dual role, with both the twins unaware of each other’s existence. Varun Sharma too plays a double role in this comedy caper. One would expect Ranveer Singh to hold the entire show on his shoulders, but the film’s lead actor is part of an ensemble cast where everyone gets enough to chew on.

Cirkus is set in the 1960s and will hit theatres on Christmas this year. Both Ranveer and Varun are playing dual roles in the film. In the trailer, which was released on Friday, Ranveer Singh was called everything from ‘electric man’ to ‘kudrat ka karisma (a miracle)’ who discovers his body gives out literal ‘currents’. As Ranveer and Varun travel to different places, from lavish mansions to circuses and sets, they meet people, who keep telling them they look familiar.

The film is set in a vibrant, loud, colorful colony filled with caricaturish characters. What ensues is a series of confusion as Ranveer and Varun soon figure that they have their doppelgangers in the town.

His romance with Pooja Hegde and Jacqueline Fernandez leads to only more chaos.

Add Johnny Lever and other actors’ hilarious one-liners and a surprise cameo appearance by Deepika Padukone ( presumably in an electrifying dance number) to the mix and that is the Cirkus trailer for you.

Cirkus, an adaptation of Shakespeare’s play The Comedy Of Errors, has been directed by Rohit Shetty and it also feature Pooja Hegde, Jacqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Tiku Talsania, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and Vrajesh Hirjee.

This will be Shetty’s third collaboration with Singh after their blockbuster “Simmba” and last year’s “Sooryavanshi”, in which he featured in an extended cameo. The film is an important one for Ranveer as his last two films – ’83’ and ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ – did not perform well at the box office.

Meanwhile, Ranveer looks forward to the Karan Johar directorial ‘Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani’ in which he will share the screen with Dharmendra, his ‘Gully Boy’ co-star Alia Bhatt, Jaya Bachchan and Shabana Azmi.
