One of the best things about Rick and Morty is that the creators are so aware of what the show is. In season 6, episode 7, titled “Full Meta Jackrick”, some of the antagonists were all people whose names were based on elements that help make up shows, movies, and books. Play on words like previously on (named Previous Leon), flashbacks (Flash Back), and protagonist (Protago Nick) to explain that they know how goofy the show is. The most powerful of them all, Brett/Rhett Con (retcon) was used to show how silly changes can sometimes be.
In the next episode, Mr. Nimbus (this writer’s favorite side character) returns. It may be brief, but enough. His appearance seems to lead into something that fans may have noticed. A lot of the villains look like characters from comic books. Mr. Nimbus is Namor and Cookie Magneto is obviously Magneto of the X-Men. Then, a version of Mister Mxyzptlk shows up and Rick has no choice but to acknowledge that it’s true.
As the episode description teases, this could be one of the show’s most bizarre episodes yet. The titles for Rick and Morty episodes usually come from the titles of popular shows or movies. This one is a play on the Robert De Niro movie Analyze This. Now, the show has done some strange and sometimes disgusting things. The funny part is, if the description is true, this isn’t close to the weirdest. However, that may change during the episode. We’ll have to wait and see.
Now that Rick and Morty Season 6 has returned to Adult Swim, fans can’t wait to watch each and every new episode. With the season’s penultimate offering right around the corner, we should expect plenty of ridiculous antics to round out all of the memorable moments of the season so far. Here is the exact release date and time you will be able to watch Rick and Morty Season 6, Episode 9.
Rick and Morty Season 6, Episode 9 will be released on Sunday, December 4, 2022. The time at which the episode will be available to watch, or stream, depends on where you live. This new episode of Rick and Morty sees the latter receive a gift from a random stranger on the street. Elsewhere, Rick is concerned about a choice being made, but will anybody listen to the cautious approach he wishes to take?
As we know, Episode 9 will be the penultimate installment of Season 6, so we should expect plenty of drama and chaos from the titular heroes, as well as their dysfunctional family. Already confirmed to return for a seventh season, we may also be left with some jaw-dropping cliffhangers when the season wraps. Exactly what is around the corner, though, is anybody’s guess. In the usual distinct Rick and Morty style, writers have managed to keep every secret under lock and key.
