NEW DELHI: Australia captain Pat Cummins has headed home from the tour of India due to a serious family illness. However, he will return in time for the third Test, the team said on Monday.
“He will return to India later this week to re-join preparations for the third Test in Indore,” the team said in a statement.
India are currently leading the four-match series 2-0.
India, who have retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, had crushed Australia by an innings and 132 runs in the opening Test and went on to win the second Test, in Delhi, by 6 wickets.
The third Test will be played at Holkar Stadium in Indore from March 1.
