Ledecky got here house in 8min, 08.87sec to win forward of China’s Li Bingjie on 8:13.31 and Australia’s Ariarne Titmus on 8:13.59.
Ledecky mentioned she had “never dreamed of even coming to meetings like this” when she began her profession.
“To be here and to have been to a bunch of world championships now, it’s amazing,” she mentioned.
“I’m loving every second, just trying to enjoy each moment.
“Now I’m completed and I will be able to revel in a slight bit with my public and pals.”
It was Ledecky’s second gold of this year’s world championships in Fukuoka, after she retained her 1,500m freestyle title earlier in the week.
Her latest triumph gives her a career haul of 21 world championship golds, extending her record as the most decorated woman in the history of the competition.
She also surpassed fellow American great Michael Phelps by claiming her 16th individual world title.
“There are some truly stunning competition there in all my occasions,” Ledecky said.
“Kudos to them for pushing them all of the manner, pushing me each and every year in observe.
“It’s always a battle, it’s always a great race — I know I have to bring my best every single time,” she added.
