Darshan’s Kranti, which generated a thunderous roar even before its debut, is still making the appropriate noises now. The big-budget comedy, which debuted in theatres on Republic Day (January 26), is apparently the newest member of the 100 crore club. Our sources claim that the commercial entertainment product has formally surpassed a Rs 100 crore gross collection, which includes the satellite and digital rights, which were sold for an astronomical sum, as well as revenue from the theatre industry.Kranti, which was written and directed by V Harikrishna, combines family entertainment with a message on the importance of preserving public schools. Producer Shylaja Nag, who is pleased with the movie’s performance, claimed that Darshan’s large fan base contributed to the movie’s remarkable success at single theatres throughout the State and its ability to appeal to multiplex crowds. According to Shylaja, who along with B Suresha produced the movie under the Media House Studios label, “With Darshan being a huge crowd puller across single screens, it is intriguing to see people standing in lines to buy the physical tickets instead of opting for online booking.”
In places like BKT (Bengaluru Kolar and Tumakuru), MMCH centres (Mysuru Mandya Coorg and Hassan), Chitradurga, Davangere Bellary, Hubli, Dharwad, Shivamogga, Belgaum, and the Hyderabad-Karnataka belt, the movie is doing well, according to Shylaja. Finally, our efforts have been successful, and I’m happy that Kranti, our second project with Darshan following Yajamana, is making such a large splash at the box office.
Rachita Ram, Samyuktha Hornad, Vainidhi Jagadish, and Sadhu Kokila are also featured in Kranti, which also has Ravichandran and Sumalatha in significant parts. Harikrishna served as both the music director and cinematographer for Kranti, which was shot by Karunkar.
