The forthcoming edition of The Kapil Sharma Show will include the whole cast of Gangs of Wasseypur, including Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Pankaj Tripathi, Piyush Mishra, Jameel Khan, and many others, in addition to director Anurag Kashyap. The trailer has emcee Kapil Sharma making jokes about Nawazuddin’s chiselled body to Pankaj Tripathi’s glowing face. In the opening of the trailer, Kapil remarks that there were no bank employees or representatives from large corporations in Gangs of Wasseypur—only “chor, uchakke, badmash” (thefters, robbers, goons). Anurag Kashyap is left speechless by this.
“Ye aise actor hain jo koi bhi role badi sahajta se kar lete hain, wo to inki zindagi mein Anurag Kashyap aagaye, Ram Gopal Varma aagaye, agar inki zindagi mein pahle Karan Johar aagaye hote,” adds Kapil when discussing the critically praised roles that Manoj Bajpaye (This performer excels at playing any role with ease. In case Karan Johar had arrived before them, Anurag Kashyap and Ram Gopal Varma came first in his life.
Nawazuddin isn’t spared either by Kapil in the advertisement. One of the most well-known quotes from the movie is from the actor who played Faisal: “sabka badla lega Faisal” (Faisal will exact revenge for everything). In response, Kapil comments in Hindi that “he says it with such a strong conviction that it looks he will do the payback for real. Take retribution later, have some ghee first (to make health), he would have been told if someone else had said this sentence.
Pankaj Tripathi’s simplicity and the radiance on his face are also made fun of by Kapil. “It seems he will think twice even before cutting his birthday cake,” he says in Hindi.
