Sunny Deol gave his fans the first look at his eagerly anticipated movie Gadar 2, which also stars Ameesha Patel and Utkarsh Sharma, on the occasion of Republic Day. He posted the poster, which features the actor looking as badass as ever while clutching a massive hammer, on Instagram. His famous quote from the movie’s precursor, “Hindustan Zindabaad Hai… Zindabaad Tha… Aur Zindabaad Rahega,” is written on the poster. Added he, “We present to you the biggest sequel to an Indian film in 20 years on this Independence Day. Gadar 2 opens in theatres on August 11th, 2023.” He ended by wishing his audience “#HappyRepublicDay.”

Gadar 2, directed by Anil Sharma, is the follow-up to the 2001 movie Gadar. Sunny Deol, Ameesha Patel, and Utkasrh Sharma will all reprise their respective roles as Tara Singh, Sakeena, and Jeete in the sequel. Luv Sinha, Simrat Kaur, Manish Wadhwa, and Gaurav Chopra also play significant parts in the sequel.
Sunny Deol discussed the movie in an interview with Bollywood Hungama, saying, “Gadar – Ek Prem Katha has played a significant role in both my personal and professional lives. In addition to being the main character, Tara Singh from Gadar went on to become a cult figure who overcame all obstacles and crossed all lines for his family and love. After 22 years, working with the team was a creatively stimulating experience.”
