Actor Akshay Kumar responded to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent request for BJP members and leaders to hold off on superfluous comments about unrelated topics like movies. Akshay stated that the film industry will benefit greatly if PM Narendra Modi’s remark results in a change during the Mumbai premiere of the trailer for his upcoming movie Selfiee. He added that a film is produced through a number of steps in the industry, and anyone expressing a comment makes things “messy.”
The announcement by PM Narendra Modi coincided with the current boycott movement and rallies against Pathaan. According to BJP sources cited by the news agency PTI, PM Modi advised party members to steer clear of such comments because they would distract from the party’s development objective. Many movies, TV shows, and online series have generated controversy because they have been accused of hurting people’s feelings.
Akshay responded to PM Modi’s assertion on Sunday. The actor, as reported by Indian Express, remarked “Optimism is always appreciated. And this is what our prime minister is saying. He has the greatest influence in India. It will be excellent for the industry if he is saying anything and if things change.”
Akshay further stated, “We go through so much, so why shouldn’t things change? We produce movies, submit them to the censor board, and then, once something is said, they are approved (it becomes messy). However, I believe it will work out better for us now that he has stated it.”
