Netflix Renews ‘Cobra Kai’ For A Sixth Season, But There’s A Catch!

The makers of the Netflix series “Cobra Kai,” a prequel to “The Karate Kid,” have announced that it would cease after Season 6.

“It has been our modest honour to reacquaint the globe with ‘The Karate Kid’ universe. We are now able to participate in the same revered dojo that the legendary Robert Mark Kamen, John Avildsen, Jerry Weintraub, and the entire fantastic original ensemble once called home thanks to the production of “Cobra Kai.”
Additionally, it has given us the opportunity to play sensei, extending the original plotlines and giving rise to a new generation of underdogs. According to the writers Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg in a written statement, “We’ve never once taken this chance for granted.”

“From the beginning, our aim with ‘Cobra Kai’ has been to bring it to a close on our terms, leaving the Valley at the moment and location we’ve always envisioned. Therefore, we can proclaim that accomplishment with great pleasure and gratitude,” the message says.

“Cobra Kai will come to an end with the forthcoming Season Six. The Miyagiverse has never been stronger, despite the fact that today may be bittersweet for the fanbase. We want to share more “Karate Kid” tales with you in the future since this fandom is the BEST on the earth. We all know that Cobra Kai never dies.

Cobra Kai, starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, continues the ongoing struggle between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence and is set more than 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament in “Karate Kid.”

Heald, Hurwitz, and Schlossberg, through their production business Counterbalance Entertainment, are the series’ writers and executive producers. Along with Susan Ekins, Will Smith, James Lassiter, and Caleb Pinkett produce for Westbrook Entertainment in collaboration with Sony Pictures Television.
