After their daughter experienced a serious health scare at delivery that required her to spend 100 days in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), Nick Jonas and his wife Priyanka Chopra made sure to celebrate her first birthday in a spectacular way. When the pop star visited The Kelly Clarkson Show on Friday, January 13, he spoke candidly about Malti’s accomplishment. We have to have a party, he declared. We had to celebrate in style because “she went through a pretty wild adventure in the early portion of her existence.”
The former star of Scream Queens then shared his aims and ambitions for 2023, noting they may have to take a backseat to his position as a dad. Being a new father has taken up the most of his time, he joked, to which host Kelly Clarkson humorously responded, “Are you going to try and sleep next year?”
Malti was born via surrogate in January 2022, and the stunning stars disclosed in May that she was early and required more than three months in the neonatal critical care unit. “As we celebrate Mother’s Day, we can’t help but think back on the past few months and the emotional rollercoaster we’ve been on, which we now realise a great number of other people have also gone through. Our beautiful girl is finally home after spending more than 100 days in the NICU, Priyanka wrote in the caption of the first image she posted of their child.
