Rest-of-season rankings: Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Emeka Egbuka enter overall top 10

Each week, Eric Karabell ranks players by position based on their fantasy football value for the rest of the 2025 season. Use the information to optimize the players for their future potential and/or to gauge their value in trade. Eric’s top 100 can be found below the positions in this column.

Quarterback

Rankings changes: There are several changes in the top 10, as Kyler Murray continues to post one average outing after another. He leaves, with Dak Prescott replacing him. Prescott has surpassed 20 PPR points in three out of four games. Murray hasn’t done this all season. Drake Maye edges past Justin Herbert into the top 10. Sam Darnold pushes into the top 20. Dillon Gabriel joins the top 30. Mac Jones would join him if we thought Brock Purdy was going to be out long term. Lamar Jackson (hamstring) remains at No. 2 as we still await clarity on his timeline to return.

Running back

Rankings changes: Some may wonder what Christian McCaffrey needs to do to rise to our No. 1 RB spot. Well, he’s doing it … mostly. It’s just so much volume, how can we not worry about injury? The top tier remains (for now), Bijan Robinson, then McCaffrey, then the league’s rushing leader Jonathan Taylor. Javonte Williams moves up to the edge of RB1 status. Derrick Henry moves further from that status. Quinshon Judkins and J.K. Dobbins push into the top 20. Jacory Croskey-Merritt, Michael Carter and Rico Dowdle are big risers. Omarion Hampton (ankle, now on IR), Woody Marks and Trey Benson (knee, also on IR) are notable fallers.

Wide receiver

Rankings changes: Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Emeka Egbuka continue to thrive — and now they join the top-5 crew. The rise for Egbuka, in his rookie season, is startling, and it should continue. Nico Collins, with more than four catches in only one game, leaves the top 10. Deebo Samuel, Chris Olave and Jaylen Waddle move closer to WR2 territory. Jakobi Meyers, Jameson Williams and Tee Higgins move in the other direction. Kendrick Bourne joins the rankings.

Is Jake Ferguson the most reliable TE in fantasy?

Stephania Bell contends that Jake Ferguson is the only TE fantasy managers can trust consistently.

Rankings changes: So much for Trey McBride and Brock Bowers in that top tier. The dominant Jake Ferguson moves to No. 1. He enters Week 6 with 20 more PPR points than any other tight end, and only nine wide receivers have more points. McBride remains at No. 2, but his spot isn’t safe. Bowers (knee) was underachieving before his injury, but he stays in the No. 5 spot for now. Darren Waller, in only two games, is already in the top 10.
