Akshay Kumar has injured himself while shooting for his upcoming movie Housefull 5. The accident took place during an action sequence when objects unexpectedly flew towards him on set. Following the mishappening, the actor has been advised to take some rest and focus on his recovery before returning to work. Meanwhile, the film’s production team has assured that additional safety measures will be put in place for upcoming shoots to prevent any further accidents.
In addition to Akshay Kumar, Housefull 5 features Fardeen Khan, Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Jacqueline Fernandez, Chitrangda Singh, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma and Sonam Bajwa. Phew! The project is being bankrolled by Sajid Nadiadwala’s Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment.
In November, the makers shared a BTS picture from the shoot, which featured Akshay Kumar, Fardeen Khan, Jackie Shroff, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Dino Morea, Chunky Panday, Johnny Lever, Nikitin Dheer, Ranjeet, director Tarun Mansukhani and producer Sajid Nadiadwala. Actresses Jacqueline Fernandez, Chitrangda Singh, Nargis Fakhri, Soundarya Sharma and Sonam Bajwa were also seen in the image. The caption read, “Cruising through the last schedule of our cinematic journey!”
Before that, in September, the Housefull 5 team celebrated Chunky Panday’s birthday in Spain. The actor shared a video on Instagram giving a peek into the fun celebrations. The video started with a group photo featuring Nargis Fakhri, Fardeen Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Riteish Deshmukh, and, of course, Chunky. It then showed the cake-cutting moment. There were also shots of Abhishek and Nargis feeding Chunky some cake. “A Birthday at Sea. The night of the 26th, guess who cut the cake and fed my face,” read the side note.
Housefull 5 is the fifth movie in the popular comedy franchise. The first instalment was released in 2010 and featured Deepika Padukone, Lara Dutta, Boman Irani, Arjun Rampal and the late Jiah Khan. The second, third and fourth parts were released in 2012, 2016 and 2019, respectively. Now, Housefull 5, directed by Tarun Mansukhani, is set to release in 2025.
