South Korean pistol shooter Kim Ye-ji, known for her silver medal-winning effort in the women’s 10m air pistol event at the Paris Olympics, has secured her first acting role as an assassin.
The 32-year-old became an internet sensation for her calm demeanor and distinctive look.
Videos of Kim’s shooting went viral and drew praise from public figures like Elon Musk.Following this online fame, she will star in a spinoff short-form series called ‘Crush,’ a part of the global film project ‘Asia’ – as confirmed to AFP by a spokesperson for Seoul-based entertainment firm Asia Lab.
Kim will be acting alongside Indian actress and influencer Anushka Sen.
The company said it is excited to witness “the potential synergy that will arise from Kim Ye-ji and Anushka Sen’s new transformation into a killer duo”.
Since her Olympic success, a clip of Kim at the Baku World Cup in May gained significant popularity, leading to fan art, memes and various edits.
In August, she signed with a South Korean talent agency to help manage her new ventures and has been featured in a magazine photoshoot for Louis Vuitton.
