Netherlands’ Sifan Hassan clinched the gold medal in a dramatic finish to the women’s marathon on Sunday, with an Olympic record time of 2:22:55.
The win added to her medals tally at the Games following her bronze in the 5,000-metre and 10,000-metre.
Ethiopia’s Tigst Assefa took silver while Kenya’s Helen Obiri won the bronze medal.
