Film starring Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza Ved is performing really well at the box office. Riteish made his directing debut with this movie, which also happens to be his third main part in a Marathi movie. He is paired with his real wife this time, and the crowd is adoring their chemistry, which is evident in the numbers.
The most recent Marathi film, which was released on December 30th, 2022, ended its second weekend on a good note. After bringing in 10 crores over the weekend, it grossed a staggering 20.67 crores in its first week. It’s interesting to note that 12.75 crores more were collected during the second weekend than they were over the first. With such a pattern, the movie has become a resounding hit.
Ved made 33.42 crores nett at the box office in the first 10 days. Although the movie is being shown in a few other states except Maharashtra, almost all of the audiences are from that state. For those who don’t know, the Riteish Deshmukh-starring film apparently has a 15 crore budget and generates excellent profits.
If we subtract the budget from the overall revenue, Ved has profited 18.42 crores, according to calculations. Its percentage returns are 122.8%, which is quite high for a local movie. As there won’t be any significant competition till Pathaan opens on January 25, the movie may even surpass a lifetime gross of 50 crores.
Ved is Riteish Deshmukh’s second significant box office hit in the Marathi cinema industry, following Lai Bhaari.
