Following another victory over upstarts Talon Esports, Blacklist International has maintained its perfect record in the most recent season of the Southeast Asia Dota Pro Circuit (SEA DPC). The squad is still unbeaten in the league and presently holds the top rank in Division 1. It appears to be on track to earn a spot in Peru’s 2019 Lima Major.
In the off-season, Blacklist International bought RSG’s DPC spot and put together their first Dota 2 team, which featured stars like Timothy “TIMS” Randrup and Marc “Raven” Fausto.
Recap
Blacklist International, Bleed Esports, and Geek Slate are presently tied for second position in the league after Week One of the SEA DPC with two victories each.
On the other hand, Talon Esports are presently ranked fifth after defeating BOOM Esports and losing to Execration. However, a victory over Blacklist International may give the group a chance to participate in the Lima Major.
First game
The first part of the match was quite peaceful, but Blacklist International quickly went on the attack with the help of the combo of Carlo “Kuku” Palad’s Broodmother and Marc “Raven” Fausto’s Lina, who repeatedly eliminated Talon Esports’ heroes one by one.
But as the game went on, Talon Esports was able to reverse the tide with a victorious teamfight close to the Roshan pit. Nuengnara “23savage” Teeramahanon’s Spectre went on a killing rampage by expertly utilising his Haunt ability, despite Blacklist International’s attempts to stall the game long enough for its main heroes to achieve their item timings.
In the opening game of the best-of-three series, Talon Esports took the lead after 41 minutes.
2nd game
Blacklist International went all-in on an aggressive draught, selecting the trio of Lifestealer, Ember Spirit, and Broodmother, while Talon Esports put their trust in 23savage’s Spectre once more in the wake of his success in Game One.
However, Blacklist International’s aggressive dominance of the map with the mobility of Raven’s Lifestealer and Karl “Karl” Baldovino’s Ember Spirit didn’t go as Talon Esports had hoped.
Blacklist International struck the decisive blow after 37 minutes, forcing the series to a best of one, forcing Talon Esports to play conservatively for the remainder of the game as the team only claimed one tower throughout the game.
