Nearly two years after Twitter deleted her account in May 2021, actor Kangana Ranaut has reactivated her account. She posted a tweet this evening that read, “Hello everyone, it’s good to be back here.”A blue tick has not yet shown on her account. After Ms. Ranaut tweeted content that sparked controversy and was associated with unrest in Bengal following the election, Twitter deactivated her account.Multiple times, her account has broken Twitter’s “hateful conduct and abusive behaviour” rules. On Twitter, Ms. Ranaut frequently shared offensive and unfiltered messages, many of which served as provocative calls to action.
The actor released a behind-the-scenes footage of her upcoming movie, “Emergency,” which is based on former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, after regaining account access.
“It’s all done now. The effective completion of emergency filming. See you in theatres on October 20, 2023 “Tonight, Ms. Ranaut tweeted. In the remark that led to Twitter banning Ms. Ranaut’s account, she appeared to be pleading with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to use his “Virat Roop” from the “early 2000s” in Bengal to “tame” West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
After the Trinamool Congress won the assembly election and was elected for a third straight term, violence had broken out in various areas of Bengal. Both the BJP and Ms. Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress held the other responsible for the riots and burning.
