Hollywood icon Jennifer Lopez, who stars as the bride in Jason Moore’s film “Shotgun Wedding,” was first hesitant to take the role after working on the film “Marry Me,” according to media sources. She only became convinced after reading Mark Hammer’s script.
When Jennifer was set to start filming “Marry Me,” she thought, “Ah, I don’t want to do another wedding movie.”
Jennifer Lopez recalled reading it while in the bathtub and thinking, “Oh this is amusing, this could be terrific; depending on who directed this, it could be really wonderful,” in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
In the movie, a couple gathers their families for a vacation wedding, but when the guests are held hostage, the couple must free their loved ones, according to “Female First UK.”
Josh Duhamel, who took over for the scandal-hit Armie Hammer, plays the male protagonist in the movie, and he had no trouble “connecting” with Jennifer Lopez on the set.
He said: “We talked about how important it was for us to be able to connect in a way that was authentic on film because if we couldn’t do that, the movie wouldn’t work. We discussed the importance of having one other’s backs no matter what, so go forward.
