In a recent Shark Tank India broadcast, Amit Jain from season 2 made a “joking” remark about Namita Thapar and her husband. After Namita expressed interest in a pitch on a taser and other safety devices, the co-founder of CarDekho mockingly referred to her as a “husband beater.” Anupam Mittal of Shaadi(dot)Com added extra “humour” to the discourse by advising leaving household issues at home.
When brothers Abhay Sharma and Smaritika Sharma arrived on Shark Tank India season 2 to promote their safety products company, Smart Stick Guardian, the joking amongst the three started. The pair was selling gear for explorers under the company, including tasers, SOS alerts, and torches. The devices were designed for usage in the wild.
The devices were designed for usage in the wild. It was also shown that animals receive a little jolt from a taser but are unharmed.
Upon witnessing the taser, Namita humorously questioned, “Can’t someone misuse this on their husband?,” according to India Today.” Everyone was stunned by the statement. Namita was mockingly referred to as a “spouse beater” by Amit. Anupam continued, “Leave household matters at home,” adding, “Are bhai ghar ki baat ghar mein rakha karo yahan kya bata rahi ho on national television.”
The tension between the Sharks, meanwhile, doesn’t appear to be captivating all of the watchers. Amit Jain responded when a fan over the weekend compared Sasural Simar Ka to Shark Tank India season 2. Amit compared Twitter to Quora in a tweet on Saturday. Is Twitter becoming into the next Quora? he questioned. “Naah, but Shark Tank is the new Sasural Simar Ka,” a user said. Amit made fun of the user. Oh well for you, I see you watch both, he said in response.
One user responded, “Do take this feedback and work on it in next season. We have enough sob shows which we skip so skipping this one is no big deal but this was a good show in season 1 hence PPL comment,” to which another user replied, “To maintain the authenticity and innocence, Amit stated, “I think as sharks we just have to be ourselves and that’s most important. Since producers continuously improvise, I’m confident that they are aware of the criticism. Season baaki hai abhishek.”
