In a video making the rounds on the internet, a 23-year-old man is seen operating a scooter in Lucknow’s Hazratganj neighbourhood, imitating a trick Tom Cruise pulled off in “Knight and Day.” As she sat facing him, the girl was seen putting her legs over him in a manner similar to that of Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz in the 2010 film “Knight and Day.” A passing passenger recorded the footage, and it quickly went viral, prompting the police administration to take action against the driver.
In the most recent development of the story, the police detained the 23-year-old man after receiving information from the city’s CCTV cameras under sections 294 (obscene act) and 279 (rash driving) of the IPC. The child, however, has supposedly been exonerated since she was a juvenile.
The young pair received a challan and a complaint has been filed against them for promoting obscenity in a public place and other sections for their PDA and love in the middle of the road on a moving scooter.
While this pair received penalty for their efforts to emulate Indian Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, everyone is required to abide by traffic laws and certainly should not attempt such behaviours.
