In her upcoming movie Murder Mystery 2, actress Jennifer Aniston donned a lehenga created by fashion designer Manish Malhotra. Diet Sabya, an Instagram user, confirmed the same on their social media page. “DS ji Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler in Indian clothing for murder mystery 2… Any idea who Jennifer is wearing?” “@jenniferaniston in a @manishmalhotra05 lehenga,” was Diet Sabya’s Instagram Stories response to the query. On Monday night, the movie’s trailer was posted on Netflix’s YouTube channel. Four years after solving their first murder investigation, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston’s Nick and Audrey Spitz (from the trailer) are now working as full-time detectives. The two are invited to attend their friend the Maharaja’s (Adeel Akhtar) wedding celebration on his Private Island.
Jennifer shows up to a gathering as the celebrations get underway wearing a cream-colored lehenga and matching jewellery. Adam also praised her for wearing a sherwani that matched. Additionally, Adam and Jennifer posted the trailer on their Instagram feeds. They wrote “We’re baa-aack…..March 31!! @netflixfilm” as the post’s caption. Manish’s label, Manish Malhotra World, responded to the message by using a white heart emoji. Several fans praised Jennifer’s appearance in the comments section as well. Someone exclaimed, “You look amazing, honey, really great, in Indian clothing. The outfit now has a higher level of glitz thanks to you.” “Never thought I’d see Jennifer in a lehenga, omg she slayed,” read one comment. A user on Instagram wrote, “Jen in traditional Indian garb.” Someone wrote, “I never believed we would ever see you in an Indian outfit—ghaghra choli.”
However, several of the audience members noted that the trailer stereotyped Indian marriages. The bridegroom rides an elephant in the trailer. When discussing it, someone remarked, “Why the heck is an elephant featured in every Indian white wedding?” as reported by Diet Sabya. A commenter posted trailer stills and wrote, “It’s not Adam’s sherwani. Jen looks fantastic! I mean, considering the other costumes in the scene, it might have easily crossed the line into tacky NRI.”
An upcoming comedy-mystery movie titled Murder Mystery 2 will be helmed by Jeremy Garelick and written by James Vanderbilt. This movie, which stars Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston, is a follow-up to the 2019 murder mystery. On March 31, Murder Mystery 2 will be available on Netflix.
