Family denies that MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli sent lavish gifts to newlyweds Athiya Shetty and KL Rahul

Previous reports had suggested that MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli had gifted expensive items for cricketer KL Rahul's wedding.

The rumours that former cricket captains MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli gave pricey gifts to the newlyweds KL Rahul and Athiya Shetty are untrue. No such gifts had been given to the newlyweds, according to a source close to the Shetty family. On Monday in Khandala, the couple was wed in a small ceremony.

In contrast to Virat Kohli and his wife, actor Anushka Sharma, who reportedly gave the pair a BMW worth 2.7 crore, Dhoni reportedly gave KL Rahul a Kawasaki Ninja bike worth 80 lakh rupees. The prior media stories, according to a source close to the Shetty family, were false. “All the reports published are completely unfounded and untrue,” they declared, “and we ask the press fraternity to validate specifics with us before releasing such inaccurate material in the public arena.”

Athiya, the daughter of actor Suniel Shetty and his wife Mana Shetty, has been seeing KL Rahul for a while, despite the fact that they haven’t publicly acknowledged their relationship. With friends, they just rang in the new year in Dubai. On her Instagram Stories, Athiya had posted pictures of the couple taken by their pals.

The ceremony was held in secret on Monday at Athiya’s father’s farm in Khandala. Later, in front of the photographers gathered outside the farmhouse, she and KL Rahul made their first public appearance as a married pair. Athiya wore an Anamika Khanna neutral-toned lehenga with polki-embellished jewellery for her wedding. KL Rahul, meanwhile, attended the ceremony in an off-white sherwani.

“In your light, I learn how to love,” the pair wrote in a joint Instagram post following their nuptials. We got married today in the house that has brought us so much happiness and peace, surrounded by the people we love the most. On this journey of togetherness, we ask for your blessings with a heart full of gratitude and love. (Hands folded emoji) Along with cricketer Virat, actors Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Kajol, Kartik Aaryan, and Madhuri Dixit all sent well wishes on the post. Ahan Shetty, an actor, extended his affection to Athiya as well. In 2015, Athiya made her acting debut alongside actor Sooraj Pancholi in the film Hero. Her most recent endeavour was the 2019 romance comedy Motichoor Chaknachor, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
