According to Box Office India, the Pathaan movie, starring Shah Rukh Khan, made around Rs 130 crore in its first two days of release. According to early reports, the movie made another Rs 35–36 crore on its third day. The fact that Friday was a workday is probably to blame for the decline in numbers. The forthcoming weekend is predicted to see an increase in the movie’s take. With such impressive numbers throughout the first three days, the movie’s three-day take is predicted to be in the neighbourhood of 160 crore nett.
The article added that because Pathaan will have a 5-day extended weekend, it may finish up making Rs 250 crore nett in domestic markets by Sunday. If Pathaan succeeds, it will mark a significant achievement.
Pathaan was able to surpass the Rs 200 crore (gross) barrier before the conclusion of the second day. Pathaan was described as the “first Hindi film to surpass Rs 100 crore worldwide gross box office collecting barrier on two consecutive days” by YRF on Thursday night. Worldwide revenue for the film was Rs 219.6 crore, according to the makers.
The trade and the public were equally astounded by Pathaan’s inaugural weekend. According to Bollywood Hungama, the Hindi film KGF 2 with Yash as the lead managed to earn Rs 193.99 crore during its four-day opening weekend before this one. Sultan, starring Salman Khan, debuted to an opening weekend gross of Rs 180.36 crore. War, the preceding film starring Siddharth Anand, debuted to a gross of Rs 166.25 crore over the same period despite having a Rs 50 crore plus opening day.Siddharth Anand, the director of Pathaan, stated that making box office records cannot be planned. In a statement, he stated, “Scripting history. Everyone desires it, but planning is impossible. It simply occurs. It is truly a very humbling experience when it does. Currently, I’m feeling tremendously stressed and am motivated to return to the set of a movie in order to try once more to make something truly unique for viewers. That is how I am feeling right now, Anand stated in a statement.
“For me, sure, numbers do matter,” he continued. Although it is a recognition of all the effort, filmmaking is also a team sport. I thus share this amazing event with the Pathaan cast and crew.
