At Sundance’s opening night, Dakota Johnson Makes A “Cannibalism” Joke That Amazes The Audience Aww ROFL

As a presenter at the first-ever “A Taste of Sundance” dinner, “Fifty Shades” actress Dakota Johnson made an amusing start to the 2023 Sundance Film Festival.

According to “Variety,” the actress jokingly claimed that she was offered the part of the peach in Luca Guadagnino’s Oscar-winning independent film “Call Me by Your Name,” but she had to decline it owing to schedule issues.

But thank God, exclaimed Dakota Johnson. Armie Hammer would have attempted to eat me if I had been another lady.

As she gave Guadagnino the international icon award, Dakota Johnson lauded him as a film (and Prada) enthusiast. She played the lead in his adaptation of “Suspiria,” but when she made a joke about Hammer, the audience laughed and gasped.

According to “Variety,” Hammer, who starred in “Call Me by Your Name” with Timothee Chalamet, has been accused of possessing cannibalistic fantasies, engaging in sex assault, and being cruel to extramarital lovers. Hammer refuted the allegations.

In the movie, Elio, played by Chalamet’s character, performs a sexual act on a piece of fruit, which Hammer eventually learns about. Hammer plays Elio’s love interest.

In reference to Guadagnino’s 2022 film “Bones and All,” a cannibalism romantic drama that also stars Chalamet, Johnson stated, “It’s been five years since that film premiered here, and Luca hasn’t ceased driving us to interesting places.” Who knew cannibalism was so common, she jokingly said.
