The 2023 Academy Awards will be unique for India for three reasons.The 95th Academy Awards have nominated S S Rajamouli’s song Naatu Naatu from his film RRR in the Best Original Song category.Prior to that, Naatu Naatu won the Best Original Song category of the Critics’ Choice Award and the Golden Globe.At the Critics’ Choice Awards, the movie won Best Foreign Language Film as well.Rajamouli had hoped that the movie would be nominated for Best Picture, but that did not happen.
Not only that.
The Elephant Whisperers by Kartiki Gonsalves and All That Breathes by Shaunak Sen both received nominations for Best Documentary Feature Film and Best Documentary Short Film, respectively.
Unfortunately, Pan Nalin’s Chello Show came in last for Best International Film.
