According to Karan Johar, his father Yash Johar wrote him a thorough letter in which he stated: “These individuals you trust, these you don’t.”

The late producer Yash Johar’s letter was delivered to the filmmaker Karan Johar by a friend of the family a few days after his passing. In a recent interview, Karan disclosed that the letter—which he called Bible—was six pages long and had specific instructions on how to handle bank accounts, mutual funds, investments, and even whom to trust.

Karan claimed that the family friend had said the letter was only written since Yash was aware of Karan’s ignorance. He said that he was anxious and afraid. Karan said that his father would never have the discussion while still living since it “was too emotional at that time.”

“The fourth day after my father died away, we had a prayer gathering, and I came back to the office sitting all alone thinking how am I going to carry this firm,” Karan stated in an interview with Masters’ Union’s Business of Bollywood. I have no idea where my money is at all. I don’t since my dad took care of my mother and I in every way. I was completely spoiled; when I returned from receiving an IIFA award, my father asked me to sign some checks. Since I was so out of touch with money, I scribbled lots of love on them.

Karan recalled that his buddy had given him the letter and remarked, “He had a note my father had left for me before he left. It wasn’t an emotional letter; it was a business letter. The location of the funds for your mutual funds and investments was really stated in that letter. He even suggested that you should only trust the people on this list. You should move the company ahead in this manner. It started to resemble my Bible. So I took that Bible and wrote down five to six pages’ worth of information on bank accounts, where money is kept, and where investments in real estate are located.”

In addition to founding Dharma Productions, Yash Johar passed away from cancer in June 2004. Dostana (1980), Duniya (1984), Agneepath (1990), Gumrah (1993), Duplicate and film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001), and Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003) are just a few of the movies he created over his career.

Brahmastra: Part-1, Karan’s most recent work, received a resoundingly positive reception from the crowd. The movie’s major actors were Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, and Mouni Roy and was directed by Ayan Mukerji. After seven years, he will return to directing with his upcoming Rocky aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani, which is scheduled to release theatres on April 28. Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi all appear in the movie.
