Bollywood is a strange place where relationships, personal and professional, run smoothly one day and then go topsy turvy the next morning. Break ups are just not meant for romantic affiliations, as many times, professional ties also meet a dead end.
Something similar has happened to Disha Patani and Ekta Kapoor. The actress was supposed to be playing the lead in Ekta’s KTina, but now she’s going to be replaced.
According to reports, Disha has been removed due to an unprofessional attitude. Since the movie is based on Ekta’s life, she was super involved in the creative process and there’s been a major creative rift between the two individuals. Disha had apparently even shot some parts of the movie before the makers decided to pull the plug on the schedule.
Basically Disha upped her fees heavily after the pandemic and since she doesn’t really rehearse or prep for her roles that’s what they mean by ‘unprofessionalism’. She did the same thing with a few South movies – quoted extremely high prices to get out of a contract she had already signed.
The TV czarina has approached both Shraddha Kapoor and Tara Sutaria. Both of them have shown interest in the role. The shoot has been halted, and the whole movie will be reshot. The makers plan to scrap the portions of Disha Patani which were done in Chandigarh. The lady had also approached Ananya Panday and Nushrratt Bharuccha but it seems the deal did not work out. Ananya Panday is in Dream Girl 2 though.
